Calendar Setup (macOS)

NOTE: Using this method on a Mac will automatically show the account in Calendar in any other device sharing the same Apple ID.

  1. Click on this link:

  2. In the next pop-up, click on Allow to open in Calendar.

  3. The Calendar opens, and in the pop-up, click on Subscribe.

  4. In the next pop-up, you can change the calendar name and choose a color.

  5. The Location should be iCloud.

  6. Uncheck Alerts and Attachments.

  7. Change Auto-refresh to Every Day (just for safety).

  8. For the name, we suggest “PMUG Events”

  9. Click on OK.

Calendar Setup (iOS 13 or later)

NOTE: If you intend to subscribe to the PMUG Calendar using your Mac (the PREFERRED method), do NOT use this method and do NOT do both. Using this method in iOS does NOT automatically show the calendar on any other device.

  1. Tap on the following link:
    https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/1j6vo02g7f9b2pp63s8k529o97do9qol%40import.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

  2. Follow the prompts to add the calendar.

  3. For the name, we suggest “PMUG Events”

  4. For the location, choose iCloud. This will enable the calendar to be available on your other iOS devices using the same Apple ID.

Calendar Setup (iOS earlier than iOS 13)

NOTE: If you intend to subscribe to the PMUG Calendar using your Mac (the PREFERRED method), do NOT use this method and do NOT do both. Using this method in iOS does NOT automatically show the calendar on any other device.

  1. Tap and HOLD (long press) on the following link:
    https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/1j6vo02g7f9b2pp63s8k529o97do9qol%40import.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

  2. In the pop-up, select Open in “Calendar”.

  3. In the next pop-up, click on Subscribe.

  4. For the name, we suggest “PMUG Events”

  5. In the next pop-up, click Done.

  6. Open Calendar and click on the Calendars option at the bottom.

  7. You should see info@pmug.us in the Subscribed section of Calendars. You can click on the info button (an ‘i’ inside a circle) to change the name and the color.

To delete a subscribed account in iOS that was added with this method, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts, tap on Subscribed Calendars. Tap on the calendar to delete. Tap on Delete Account.
